The shoot system architecture of Vitis vinifera ssp. sativa

نویسندگان

چکیده

Conversely to many other woody perennial crops, the Vitis vinifera grapevine does not display self-supporting and limited-in-space aerial architectures, but rather develops extended shoot systems relying on external mechanical supports. This behavior results from both structural factors, i.e. stem anatomy, bud phytomer organisation, also specificities in modulation of primary growth branching, phyllotaxis, apical dominance acrotony. To mitigate most limiting biological properties for cultivation, domestication needs a range practices facilitate plant management improve agronomic performances. The structure functioning system regulate only potential biomass accumulation source/sink balance canopy microclimate with effects fruit quality organ fungus susceptibility. paper reviews main processes that architecture development, revisiting associated terminology.

Evolutionary genomics of grape (Vitis vinifera ssp. vinifera) domestication

We gathered genomic data from grapes (Vitis vinifera ssp. vinifera), a clonally propagated perennial crop, to address three ongoing mysteries about plant domestication. The first is the duration of domestication; archaeological evidence suggests that domestication occurs over millennia, but genetic evidence indicates that it can occur rapidly. We estimated that our wild and cultivated grape sam...

Multiple origins of cultivated grapevine (Vitis vinifera L. ssp. sativa) based on chloroplast DNA polymorphisms.

The domestication of the Eurasian grape (Vitis vinifera ssp. sativa) from its wild ancestor (Vitis vinifera ssp. sylvestris) has long been claimed to have occurred in Transcaucasia where its greatest genetic diversity is found and where very early archaeological evidence, including grape pips and artefacts of a 'wine culture', have been excavated. Whether from Transcaucasia or the nearby Taurus...

Quantitative analysis of the phenotypic variability of shoot architecture in two grapevine (Vitis vinifera) cultivars.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Plant architecture and its interaction with agronomic practices and environmental constraints are determinants of the structure of the canopy, which is involved in carbon acquisition and fruit quality development. A framework for the quantitative analysis of grapevine (Vitis vinifera) shoot architecture, based on a set of topological and geometrical parameters, was developed...
